NATCO's charitable organization, South Shore Foundation (SSF), sponsors community projects to enhance the quality of life for residents and to accomplish the goals of educational advancement, environmental preservation, and economic development through communications and technology.
The South Shore Foundation was established in 1996 and since its founding has awarded over one million dollars in project grants to enhance the lives of area residents. In addition to grants for worthwhile community projects, the South Shore Foundation has awarded $183,000 in college scholarships to outstanding graduates of South Shore area schools to improve educational opportunities for residents within the NATCO service area.
The South Shore Foundation established a $100,000 endowment to Arkansas State University - Mountain Home (ASUMH) and a $36,000 scholarship endowment at NorthArk College in Harrison honoring Mildred G. Sanders, Steven's grandmother and company co-founder.
The South Shore Foundation values the natural environment as a basis for the South Shore way of life and believes broadband communications can be employed to advance economic opportunity and community betterment, including telework, telemedicine, video conferencing, ecommerce, and online educational opportunities.
The South Shore Foundation will continue to encourage advancements in environmental preservation, education, and technology to cultivate economic growth and improve the lives of residents within the NATCO service area.
